ANALYSIS
This song is hot! Solid Star is definitely one guy to watch our for this year. After he dropped his first single " one in a million" featuring 2face back in 2009, he has risen steadily to stardom.
This video is a classic club style video with inspiration from the 1960s and 70s.
It's up-beat, energetic, creative, exciting, and wonderfully colorful. This is infact extreme skiborization.
This video was shot at night, and of course it's a party style video so you would expect a lot of lighting to create the desired vibrancy and energy. They even danced the popular etighi, Alanta, and Gangnam style dances.
EXTRAS/CAMEOS
This video featured Excellente, a Cameroonian guy who is also signed to AchiVas music label, and ther were of course loads of girls, girls and more girls, i mean pretty girls. There was also one short guy who made the video even more interesting. Mehn, the guy was skiborizing, and there was also another weird guy, I almost thought he was a pshycho but he put up a very good performance.
STYLE
Like I mentioned earlier, the video took inspiration for the 1970s, so the costumes were classic old school, stripped funnel pants, and silk shinny shirts with huge collars not to mention the huge necklaces .
The girls wore colorful dresses and huge hats, old school braids etc. Solid star was however very versatile with his dressing as he wore different versions of the classic funky look.
I mean, this was beyond perfect. Shout out to the set costume designer and makeup artist.
DOWNSIDE
I really wish there was nothing wrong with this video. Though someone will have to explain to me why that big blue Obama Ghana-must-go bag was doing right next to solid star where he was sitting on a blue Vespa motorcycle. Maybe he wasted to match the color of the bike with the bag or he wanted to show the inscription "YES WE CAN" but that looked a little political to me.
