ANALYSIS
Ori Mi Wu is a fast paced love song you can dance to and is one of the many love ballads soon to be released by Emma Nyra. This video is Emma Nyra's most recent video it describes "Love". The kind of love that surpasses all restrictions and barriers, so you could hear her say "whether them like am, whether them no like am".
This appears to be a dance style video comprising Emma Nyra herself and two other female dancers. The video is upbeat and energetic, it also has some light effects since it was shot at night. There are quite a few transition effects just to spice it up.
Actually, because of the title and theme of the song, being a pseudo love song, one would have expected that there should have been at least one male model to play the lover role, I mean, someone to dance with her, fool around with her or maybe kiss and hold her hand. But in this case she was just singing her love song all alone.
EXTRAS / CAMEO
There was a cameo appearance by Iyanya the Kukere master himself, like I mentioned earlier, there were two female dancers in this video, so along with Iyanya and Emma, that makes a total of four people.
STYLE
Emma Nyra wore two outfits in this video or maybe I should say one and a half. In her first outfit, She kept her sexy diva look, with a sleeveless blue demon jacket which had some rivets on the collar, sha wore bum-shorts with riveted punk style bra to-match. She also wore high neck ankle boots which had shiny metal on it. Her dancers also wore similar outfits.
Her second outfit was never shown in full. Just a shiny bra and shiny jacket. All the clips with the second jacket was cut at the shoulder level and I wonder why.
OFF-BEAT
I think this video was deficient in many ways and I have the director to blame for this not our dear Emma.
Here are some of the reasons I wouldn't nominate this video for the Grammy awards.
1. This video was supposed to be a love song, but there was no lover so there was too much energetic dancing
2. The dancers were not creative, there was no dance step they did that my 10 year old daughter wouldn't do. In fact you could see that Emma was more energetic and even danced better than them.
3. Technically, Emma had one and a half outfits, since the second outfit was never shown in full, this gives the viewer a false impression about what may not have been true.
4. Last clip showed Emma coming from an elevator or staircase or something like that, but it wasn't shown when she went in there at any point during this video. My question is, how could there have been an end without a beginning? Where did she go and where is she coming from?
RATING
My overall rating for this video is a 7/10 reasons being as mentioned above. Pardon me, she tried but the video director could have done better.
